Lloyd DeVaux
President and CEO,Sunstate Bank of Florida

Lloyd DeVaux joined Sunstate Bank of Florida as President and CEO in July of 2014.

Mr. DeVaux has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry, including 12 years as Chief Operating Officer with BankAtlantic and City National Bank of Florida. Prior to his positions as COO, DeVaux was the CIO and Senior Executive Vice President for Union Planters Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee. His experience in the corporate sector includes positions in the finance industry with Kirchman Corporation and IBM; and in the oil industry with Schlumberger Limited working in various countries in Europe and the Middle East.

Mr. DeVaux currently serves on boards including the Florida Bankers Association Board and Executive Committee, the President’s Leadership Council at Rollins College, and the Dellenbach Foundation; and has served on or chaired a number.

Angel Medina
President & CEO, Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust

Angel Medina is the President & CEO at Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust. Angel Medina is a skilled banker with more than 35 years in the financial services
industry.

Prior to joining Gibraltar Private, Mr. Medina spent nearly 10 years as the president of Regions Bank of South Florida. He also has served as the CFO of Adrian Homes and spent 12 years as a senior vice president with Barnett Bank.

Through his leadership roles in the South Florida banking industry for the past 35 years, Mr. Medina has led what are considered to be among the highest performing teams at South Florida’s leading banks, including Regions Bank and the former Barnett Bank (today part of Bank of America).

His previous position in banking was area president for Regions Bank where he managed the bank through the financial crisis of 2009 and led the company through two major mergers, including the most recent with AmSouth where the transaction created one of the Top U.S. bank holding companies.

During the last 10 years, Mr. Medina has held leadership positions in major business organizations in the Miami metropolitan area. He has served as chairman of the Beacon Council, the county’s economic development organization; chairman of the dean’s council for Florida International University’s College of Business, and he has held numerous leadership roles in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, one of the state’s largest business chambers.

In addition, he has served on philanthropic activities such as co-chair for the United Way campaign in Miami Dade, which raised more than $100 million over a two-year period, chair of the March of Dimes- Walk America and the National Conference for Community and Justice Annual Walk. He has served as chairman of several significant galas and capital campaigns such as the Mercy Hospital Foundation, FIU College of Business Capital campaign, the Archdiocese Vision 2000 campaign and Our Lady of Lourdes capital campaign.

He has been awarded the Humanitarian of the Year by the March of Dimes recognized for his impact in the community; he received the Distinguished Alumni and Torch Award from Florida International University and the Ultimate CEO award by the South Florida Business Journal.

He received his bachelor of business administration with a major in finance from Florida International University and an executive masters in business administration from Florida International University.

Carlos R. Fernandez-Guzman
President & CEO, Pacific National Bank

Carlos R. Fernandez-Guzman serves as a member of the board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific National Bank (PNB).

A well-respected banking veteran and community leader, Fernandez-Guzman has close to 40 years private sector and banking industry experience. Prior to joining PNB, he was the Senior Executive Vice President – Neighborhood Banking Group at BankUnited. Mr. Fernandez-Guzman has held executive management positions and worked with turnaround teams at banks and other enterprises including Riverdale Farms, XTec, CTI, American Savings of Florida, F.S.B., Consolidated Bank, N.A., and Southeast Bank, N.A. where he began his banking career.

Fernandez-Guzman served as Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (2008-2009), has co-chaired FIU’s Master of Science in Finance Advisory Board, and chaired multiple community Boards and key committees including the boards of UnitedHome Care Services, Miami Capital Development and Miami Citywide Development. He currently serves as Chair Board of Trustees of Chapman Partnership, and recently concluded his term as an appointee of the Honorable Governor Rick Scott to the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority where he served as Treasurer, Executive Committee Member and Member of the Board of Directors. In 2012 the Ronald McDonald House Charities Award Committee selected him as one of its “Twelve Good Men”, he is a recipient of the 2007 Leadership Miami Salute to Miami’s Leaders Award in Finance, was a founding member or the U.S. Secret Service Secure Document Alliance, and a member of the Greater Miami Chamber’s President’s Club Hall of Fame.

Veronica B. Flores
Executive Vice President, First National Bank of South Miami

Veronica has been a key member of the Executive team at First National Bank of South Miami since her arrival in 1999. As Executive Vice President, she is responsible for the daily management of the Bank, with a primary focus on client and community relations.

Veronica’s commitment and involvement in our community has been demonstrated in a wide variety of areas. In 2014 she became a Board Member of the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida, she became a member of the University of Miami Citizens Board in 2015, and most recently she was elected as a state-wide Board Member for the Florida Bankers Association where she served on the Government Relations Committee since 2011. She is past President of the South Miami Hospital Associates where she continues to serve on its Board. She served on the Board of Directors of Chamber SOUTH from 2007 to 2013 and served as its Chair from 2009 to 2010. Veronica’s involvement in the community and her leadership in banking was recognized by being selected as the recipient of the 2011 South Florida Women Extraordinaire Award. Since 2010 she has served as a Board Member of Hometown Inc., a group of commercial property owners in South Miami. Ms. Flores also served on the Board of Directors for Fellowship House Foundation for four years. Veronica’s continuous involvement and leadership in the community was recognized by Mayor Phillip Stoddard and the City of South Miami by presenting her with the key to the city in 2011. One of her proudest accomplishments was being named the 2014 Chamber SOUTH Annual award recipient for service to her community. She was also named as one of the Top 100 Power Players in Finance by South Florida Business Journal for 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Ms. Flores enjoys nearly 40 years as a community banker. Her vast experience has served the Bank well in leading the strategic initiatives for the bank. As Ms. Flores states, “I am most proud of the role that I have played in assembling an outstanding team of Bank officers. We have become the employer of choice for many bankers in our community.”

Executive Vice President-Client Management Group

Danny Martinez has over 20 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Professional Bank, Mr. Martinez worked for financial institutions such as Citibank, Union Planters Bank-Private Banking Division and Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust Co. where he serviced and formulated relationships with high net worth individuals and families as well as professionals within the legal, accounting and medical communities. A native Miamian, Mr. Martinez serves on the Board of Directors at Christopher Columbus High School, St. John Neumann Catholic Preparatory School, The South Florida Banking Institute and the Miami Dade Chapter for Rebuilding Together. Mr. Martinez attended Christopher Columbus High School and then Nova Southeastern University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Business Management.
