To retain valuable employees and develop future leaders, it is crucial to understand employee career objectives and align them with organizational goals. Managing a multigenerational workforce calls for a Supervisor that understands what motivates his/her team, knows how to keep them engaged and how to address transition and change. By encouraging a positive culture through mentoring, and by knowing the pitfalls that can be detrimental in the workplace, supervisors can ensure that employees take an active role in teamwork and administering best practices throughout their organization. These factors all lead to happier employees and a better retention rate for a stronger, more effective organization.
