The South Florida Banking Institute will provide insight on current lending issues such as real estate valuations, Libor, etc. A panel comprised of local community bank Chief Lending Officers will discuss lending issues affecting the banking community, locally and nationally. A question and answer portion will be provided as part of the forum.

Jose Cueto, President & CEO, International Finance Bank

Jose E. Cueto is the President & Chief Executive Officer of International Finance Bank since May 4, 2015. Mr. Cueto began his banking career 28 years ago at Republic National Bank of Miami and later worked for First Union, Capital Bank, Banco Real and Bank Leumi and Caja Madrid.

Mr. Cueto has been recognized as a top producer and is highly regarded by the local banking community. He was the recipient of the South Florida Business Journal’s Lender of the Year award in 2013 as well as the US-Spain Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Ponce de Leon Excellence Award.

Mr. Cueto presently serves on the Orange Bowl Committee, as a Board Member and President-Elect of the South Florida Banking Institute, as President-Elect of the Center for Financial Training, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Bankers Association (FBA) and as Vice-Chairman of the FBA BancPAC.

Andrew Yanez, SVP Chief Lending Officer and CRA Officer, International Finance Bank

Andrew Yanez is International Finance Bank’s Chief Lending Officer, responsible for residential, commercial, and corporate lending.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Yanez was an Assistant Vice President at FirstBank, Puerto Rico in Miami, responsible for managing corporate, commercial and industrial, and commercial real estate loans. Before joining FirstBank Puerto Rico, Mr. Yanez managed a large portfolio of proprietary capital invested in commercial and residential real estate, as Acquisitions Associate at Libra Group – Elandis.

Mr. Yanez earned a B.S. degree in Finance from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Accounting from Florida International University. And was part of Grupo IF’s Programa de Alta Direccion at IESE Business School. Mr. Yanez passed Level I and Level II of the CFA Program.

Nicholas Bustle, EVP/Chief Lending Officer, U.S. Century Bank

Nic Bustle is a seasoned banking professional with deep experience in Florida and across national platforms. He joined U.S. Century Bank to oversee all business lines to ensure that the full scope of the bank’s capabilities is offered to the market. Mr. Bustle has a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles, including commercial banking, commercial specialty finance and leasing, private banking and personal trust and investment management. He has been instrumental in building long term relationships with bankers, clients, centers of influence, and business community. Bustle has a Master of Science – International Business from Florida International University and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Scott Carter, VP/Loan Sales and Hedging, Centerstate Bank

Scott Carter is Vice President of Loan Sales and Hedging for CenterState Bank’s Correspondent Division. Scott joined CenterState Bank in 2009, where he developed and manages the interest rate hedge trading desk for the bank, works with lenders and investors in structuring commercial real estate financing, and has served as an investment and banking analyst and strategist.

Over the past 18 years, he has worked with financial institutions, investment companies, and real estate investors in various capacities, and has served as Executive Vice President at a portfolio and asset/liability management software company. Scott has also worked in a consulting and investment banking capacity for small businesses and financial institutions, where he has provided merger and acquisition advisory services, capital raising strategies, valuation analysis, and business management consulting.

Scott has presented at numerous banking, investment and lending conferences and events, including as an instructor at the Florida Bankers Association’s School of Banking for the past eight years.

Jeff Gross, Managing Director, BAC Florida Bank

Jeff Gross is a Miami real estate banking veteran with over 38 years of real estate lending experience. During most of the 1980’s Jeff was the Senior Residential Underwriter Manger and Loan Originator for CenTrust Bank, at the time the largest Savings and Loan in the South Eastern United States. For the past 29 years Jeff has managed the real estate lending business of BAC Florida Bank in Coral Gables. BAC Florida Bank under Jeff’s direction is the largest originator of residential real estate loans for foreign nationals. Jeff is the most knowledgeable lender in South Florida that provides financing to this clientele and is the preeminent banker in this market segment. Jeff is also an expert in working out problematic residential and commercial real estate loans and secondary marketing.
