The tradition continues, with the month of May marking the end of the fiscal year for South Florida Banking Institute’s 2016-2017 chapter. This annual eagerly-awaited event joins us in honoring all of our hard working Past Presidents, installing the upcoming year’s Board of Directors and Officers, and getting updated trends and views on the BSA/AML universe. Andres A. Fernandez, Partner at Holland & Knight LLP was inaugurated as the upcoming SFBI President, holding office for the 2017-2018 chapter. Examiners from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Bank and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation discussed various current issues affecting Florida banks and offered their professional views and recommendations. A lovely setting united high profile individuals to connect and integrate knowledge gained from expert panelists. Questions were asked regarding current BSA measures and system processes, as well as how upcoming CDD rules are expected to be implemented.
