Past Presidents Letters
Throughout its history the South Florida Banking Institute has had the great fortune of having the leadership and vision of many distinguished presidents. Below are the various messages conveyed by each during their respective terms.
David Pruna

Dear SFBI Members and Friends,
It is a true honor and privilege to serve as President of the South Florida Banking Institute. As I reflect on this year, I am filled with deep gratitude—for the people, the relationships, and the shared commitment that continue to strengthen our banking community.
For more than seventy-five years, SFBI serves as a cornerstone of South Florida’s banking industry, providing meaningful educational opportunities and fostering an environment where relationships thrive. During my term, I am reminded time and again that our greatest strength lies not in any single program or event, but in the collective dedication of our members who give their time, insight, and leadership to this organization.
The South Florida banking landscape remains dynamic and complex. Regulatory pressures, economic uncertainty, technological change, and evolving client expectations all demand thoughtful leadership and collaboration. SFBI plays a vital role in helping our institutions navigate these challenges by creating forums for open dialogue, sharing best practices, and offering access to timely, relevant industry insights. I am proud of the way our organization rises to meet these demands while remaining grounded in its mission.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our Board of Directors and Officers for their unwavering commitment and professionalism. Your leadership, strategic guidance, and willingness to serve are instrumental to our success. I am equally grateful to our committee members, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers whose efforts bring our programs to life and ensure that SFBI continues to deliver value to its membership.
To our members, thank you for your engagement and support. Your participation at our events, your willingness to share perspectives, and your belief in the importance of a strong, connected banking community are what make SFBI special. It is inspiring to witness the relationships formed, the ideas exchanged, and the collaboration that continues to define our organization.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve. It is both a professional honor and a personal privilege.
Sincerely,
David Pruna
President, South Florida Banking Institute
