Ginger Martin

President & CEO – American National Bank

American National Bank is proud to be one of the few locally owned community banks in Broward County serving South Florida since 1985. Ginger Martin has been with the bank 20 of those years.

Ms. Martin’s passion for fighting against human trafficking has led her on a mountain climbing journey with The Freedom Challenge since 2014. With five climbs under her belt thus far, including a noteworthy climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa in 2015 and Machu Picchu, Peru in 2017, Ms. Martin has tirelessly raised funds and awareness for the women and children who are victims of human trafficking.
Under her leadership, the bank has received numerous awards for its financial performance and community involvement, such as the 2017 & 2016 Banky Award from The Institute for Extraordinary Banking, Business of the Year Award from South Florida Business Journal, and Small Business of the Year from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The Commonwealth Institute named the bank one of the “Top 50 Women Led Businesses” in the state of Florida in 2017, 2016 & 2015.

In addition, Ms. Martin has been personally honored for her business leadership with awards such as 2015 Laureate by Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, Profiles in Leadership Honoree by Leadership Broward, and Influential Business Women by South Florida Business Journal.

Ms. Martin currently serves on the boards of Extraordinary Women Leading Change and Taylor’s Closet. She has previously served on the boards of the Florida Bankers Association, Leadership Broward Foundation, and as a former foster parent she served on the board of 4Kids of South Florida, Inc. Ms. Martin is a member of Junior Achievement’s Circle of Wise Women, PACE Center for Girls’ PACESetters, Strikeforce 421 Women’s Giving Circle, International Women’s Forum of Florida, and United Way of Broward County’s Women United.

Ms. Martin earned an MBA from Florida Atlantic University, a BBA in Accounting from the University of Louisiana as a Magna Cum Laude graduate, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Martin is a graduate of Leadership Broward and Lifework Leadership. She is a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer and coach.

Abel L. Iglesias

President & CEO – Professional Bank

Abel L. Iglesias serves as the Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer and has over 30 years of banking experience in the South Florida Market, most recently as President and CEO of JGB Bank, N.A. Prior to his post at JGB, Mr. Iglesias was the Senior Executive Vice-President of BankUnited FSB where he oversaw the commercial, corporate, commercial real-estate and small business banking areas. He was directly responsible for the day to day management of the Commercial Banking division and its lending groups for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. In 1997 through 2003 he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for the South Florida region of Colonial Bank. Mr. Iglesias also worked for Eastern National Bank and the Bank of Miami where he began his banking career in 1980. Mr. Iglesias is a member of the Operating Board for Doctor’s Hospital, which is part of Baptist Health Systems. He is a past- Chair of the Board of Directors for Miami-Dade College’s Center for Financial Training. He is also a past-Chair of the Board of Directors of Friends of WLRN 91.3 FM (NPR), a former board member of the Latin Builder’s Association and former board member for the City of Coral Gables’ Historic Preservation Board. Mr. Iglesias holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor’s Degree, magna cum laude, in Business Administration from Barry University.

Mario Trueba

Regional President South Florida – Iberiabank

Born in 1959 in Havana, Cuba.

Family came to USA (Philadelphia) in 1961 and ten years later moved to Miami.
Graduated from Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University) in 1980 with a degree in Psychology & Secondary Education.
Earned Masters Degree in Business Administration from Florida International University in 1987.
Entered the banking industry in January 1984, with the Flagship/Sun Bank merger.
Spent 5 ½ years at what later became SunTrust, largely in corporate banking.
Joined a highly successful privately held bank, United National Bank, in 1989.
Subsequently (1998) helped formulate the sale of United National to Mellon Financial.
For 12 years served as CEO, President and Board member of Mellon United National Bank (based in Miami).
For over 6 years also served as Florida President which included both the Mellon United and Private Wealth Management businesses.

Member of Mellon’s and later BNY Mellon’s Operating Committee
Led divestiture of Mellon United to Banco Sabadell, January 2010.
Served as CEO of Sabadell United Bank and as a Board member until July 2017
Helped lead divestiture of Sabadell United to IBERIABANK in August 2017
Currently serves as South Florida Regional President, encompassing what was previously Sabadell United, plus the ten legacy IBERIABANK offices in South Florida

Calixto Garcia-Velez

Executive Vice President and Regional Executive – FirstBank Florida

Calixto (Cali) Garcia-Velez is an Executive Vice President of First BanCorp. and
serves as Regional Executive of FirstBank Florida, a subsidiary of First BanCorp
(NYSE:FBP). Beginning his career with the Bank since 2009, Cali is responsible
for overseeing the management of all of First BanCorp business components in
Florida.

Mr. Garcia-Velez, is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he received
both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and began his professional life at the
former First Union National Bank, followed by a very successful career with
Citibank, where he served as President of Citibank Florida. In 2002, he was
named Business Manager, Citibank North America -South Division, where he
was responsible for Florida, Texas, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland and
Puerto Rico. He then accepted a position in San Francisco as Business
Manager, Citibank North America- West Division, where he was responsible for a
network of 400 branches in California and Nevada.

In 2006, he accepted the position of President and CEO of Doral Bank, in San
Juan Puerto Rico. This successful turnaround involved repositioning the Bank
from a mortgage bank model to a multi-product line community bank. He remained with Doral Bank until late 2008.

He served as Chairman of the Beacon Council in 2004, and was a member of the
Executive Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Outside of
the responsibilities of his new position, Mr. Garcia-Velez resumes his partnership
with key community organizations such as United Way of Miami, March of
Dimes, The Beacon Council, and Autism Speaks.

Daniel R. Martinez

Executive Vice President Private Banking Group – Professional Bank

Danny Martinez has over 25 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Professional Bank, Mr. Martinez worked for financial institutions such as Citibank, Union Planters Bank-Private Banking Division and Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust Co. where he served as a Senior Vice President and Market Manager formulating relationships with high net worth individuals and families as well as professionals within the legal, accounting and medical communities. A native Miamian, Mr. Martinez serves on the Board of Directors at Christopher Columbus High School, St. John Neumann Catholic Preparatory School, South Florida Banking Institute, where he served as past President, The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) Pro Bono section and the Sebastianstrong Foundation, which raises awareness and funds to help find a cure for Pediatric Cancer. He is also a past board member of the Miami Dade Chapter for Rebuilding Together, Amigos for Kids and a past member of the volunteer committee for Mercy Hospital. Mr. Martinez attended Christopher Columbus High School and then Nova Southeastern University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. As a key member of the Executive Management team at Professional Bank, Mr. Martinez shares responsibility for the daily management of the bank. In addition, he oversees the Marketing Division, Probate and Guardianship Department and Branch-Private Banking area along with an emphasis and focus on client and community relations.
