The 2016 CFO Panel marked SFBI’s final event of the year.
Frank Gonzalez, Managing Principal of MBAF moderated the panel and led the accounting hot topics forum.
Guest speakers Dan Kushner, CFO of City National Bank, Ken Harris, Senior Manager of Crowe Horwath, and Jose Marina, CFO of TotalBank deliberated regulatory and accounting issues occurring locally, nationally, and internationally.
This informative and insightful forum brought forth several discussion topics revolving the recent election results and their impact on clients, lenders and overall banking community.
Some of these topics included MRA’s, stress testing, site security, lending, regulatory examinations, velocity changes and increase in rates within investment portfolios, reserves and auditors, as well of potential of de-regulation and its significant changes. The difference in retail banks and community banks in the way they operate sales practices and their structures were also dissected.
